KC Oktoberfest

Presented by KC Bier Co., Kansas City’s largest locally-owned brewery, KC Oktoberfest is a two-day festival celebrating Bavarian-style bier, food, and entertainment, October 4–5, 2019, at Crown Center.

2019 Kansas City Grilled Cheese Festival

The 2nd Annual Kansas City Grilled Cheese Festival is taking place this Saturday, October 5th in Ilus Davis Park.

The Grilled Cheese Festival is a one-day event showing off your favorite childhood food – Grilled Cheese, from your favorite local Kansas City restaurants and food trucks! This event is open to all ages, so come out and enjoy the day with your friends and family. There will be live music, cold drinks, games, bars and all of the grilled cheese you can eat!

The KC Japan Festival will take place on October 5th from 10am-7pm at Johnson County Community College.

Bring your families and friends to learn more about the culture of Japan.

Waterfire KC

Waterfire KC takes place on October 5th at Brush Creek off of the Country Club Plaza. The lightening ceremony will at 7pm with additional events to follow throughout the evening.

Weston Apple Festival

Weston Apple Festival runs October 5-6. Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 11am-5pm.

Celebrating 31 years, the AppleFest event in historic downtown Weston is known throughout the Midwest as one of the best fall festivals in Missouri.

Activities include a Saturday morning parade, over 50 arts and crafts booths, apple cider and apple butter demonstrations and children’s activities such as pony rides, face painting and pumpkin painting.

Adults are encouraged to give a $1 donation and children get in free. For more information, click here.

Sip, Style, Shop KC Fall 19

Sip, Style, Shop KC takes place on Sunday, October 6th from 12pm-4pm at 28 Event

Space.Sip, Style, Shop KC is a semi-annual social shopping event offered every April and October designed to join Kansas City residents with small & local businesses. Serving as a showcase of Kansas City’s broad private retail choices, Sip, Style, Shop KC creates an opportunity for guests to interact with several businesses in one location. Come enjoy food, drinks, discounts at 12+ pop-up vendors, on-the-spot beauty services, a reusable shopping tote loaded with swag, and music by DJ Ashton Martin. It’s the ultimate shopper’s day out!

Hoot and Howls at the Kansas City Zoo

This event will run the first three weekends of October.

Hoots and Howls is packed with fun for all ages!  From 10 am to 3 pm you can cruise around on a pedal tractor, navigate a hay bale maze, sing along with our interactive DJ and take a ride on the Scare-o-cel. Stop by the lobby and create a wild craft to take home. 

Plus, each weekend will feature special guests for photo opportunities!

On Oct 5 & 6 Meet Princesses 10 am to 3 pm. On Saturday see pumpkin smashes at Discovery Barn at 9:30 am and elephants at Elephant Overlook at 11:30 am. On Sunday, see smashes at Tropics at 9:30 am and river otter 10 am.

On Oct. 12 & 13  Meet characters from the Land of OZ  10 am to 3 pm. On Saturday watch pumpkin smashes with red river hogs at 11:30 am and warthogs at 2:30 pm. On Sunday smashes will be at lions and leopard at 10 am, and tigers at 3pm.

On Oct. 19 & 20  Meet characters from a galaxy far far away 10 am to 3 pm

Our animals are joining in the fun by smashing pumpkins at scheduled times throughout the day.

The Great Pumpkin Fest at Worlds of Fun

This event takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, now through October 27th.

This family-friendly event is all treats and no tricks and features special Halloween-themed activities for kids, plus PEANUTS-themed rides and attractions in Planet Snoopy!
